Durango Silver Company has been collecting, cutting and using Bisbee Turquoise Cabochons in their Silver Jewelry for over 40 years. In 2001, Durango Silver Company had the great fortune of purchasing the balance of the Cecil Mickelson Bisbee Turquoise collection from his descendants, which, was one of the largest remaining collections of Bisbee Turquoise in existence. We have been on a continuous hunt for additional Bisbee Turquoise since and have landed several smaller collections throughout the years. Most recently, we have acquired another major Bisbee Turquoise collection from an old miners stash of over 30 years of mining at the Bisbee Turquoise mine. This collection came directly from the descendants of the Turquoise miner and is 100% authentic and natural Bisbee Turquoise.
Durango Silver Company has authentic Bisbee Turquoise Cabochons as well as Bisbee Turquoise Jewelry. All of our Bisbee Turquoise is authentic and natural!

All of our Bisbee Turquoise Cabochons are hand-cut by Dillon and John Hartman from our personal collection of natural, authentic old stock of Bisbee Turquoise from the Bisbee Mine located in Bisbee, Arizona USA. These cabochons have been backed with a lightweight resin (does not contain metal) to give them a cushion and to allow for easy bezel setting. We cut each Turquoise cabochon knowing they will be set by a jeweler such as ourselves, there for, we try to cut them in a way that will allow for ease of setting. We do not over back the cabochons, cut the sides at strange angles, etc. Every cabochon has been diamond cut down to 14,000 grit and then polished with Sapphire powder for the highest gloss shine the stone will allow.
