The photo above is of a beautiful Bisbee Turquoise Necklace set, the Bisbee Turquoise was cut by Dillon Hartman and the Silverwork was created by Verde Jake - Navajo. The Bisbee used in this set is very unusual as it has deep blue Turquoise with green, yellow and reddish brown matrix - all of the stones were cut from one Bisbee Turquoise Nugget. The Silverwork was beautifully constructed to accent this rare Turquoise marvelously.

Above and to the left is a Kodiak Bear Claw "all" American Turquoise Necklace created by John Hartman of Durango Silver Company. John has been a prolific artisan of the American Southwest since the early 1970's, he has designed and produced exceptional Turquoise Jewelry that is in museums, publications and some of the finest Jewelry collections in the world. This American Turquoise Necklace is unusual and an exceptional example of a quality Turquoise Necklace from the American Southwest. John personally mined the Stormy Mountain Turquoise that he cut these gemstones from with Cutler Edgar. Cutler Edgar discovered some of America's finest Turquoise Mines including the #8 Mine, Stormy Mountain Mine and many others. This is a very large American Turquoise Necklace that would take a big man to wear, it has over 400 carats of spectacular Stormy Mountain Turquoise along with huge Bear Claws and heavy Silverwork.
The American Turquoise Necklace above and to the right was handmade by Navajo Jewelry artisan Ben Yazzie. This Necklace was made with old Godber Spiderweb Turquoise from Nevada which was cut from our personal collection. We call this a Cleopatra Necklace as it is made of many bezel set Turquoise gemstones. Check out additional information and photos on its presentation page.
Above and to the left is an outstanding Spiderweb Turquoise Necklace created with exceptional American Turquoise from the Number 8 Mine located in Nevada. These are very large matching Number 8 Spiderweb Turquoise Stones and they were cut from the same nugget ofTurquoise, in fact, there are other pieces that go with this necklace that you can see on its presentation page by clicking on the photo. You can also see close up of the gemstones and additional information on the set. This is an excellent example of an American Turquoise Necklace.
Above and to the right is a different style of American Turquoise Necklace that is accented with Sugilite, Gaspeite and Spiny Oyster Shell. This Necklace was made with a heavy three stone center piece that is dangling from graduated gemstone necklace pendants. The center stone is Blue Royston Spiderweb Turquoise with beautiful golden brown matrix. The Silverwork was created by John Hartman from Durango Silver Company, all of the gemstones were also cut by John.
Above and to the left is a contemporary made Navajo Gemstone Inlay Necklace featuring Turquoise, Sugilite, Lapis and Spiny Oyster Shell. This Necklace was made by creating channel inlaid Silver pieces and then inlaying them with a multiple of different gemstones. This Necklace was made by Rita Abieta and is a beautiful example of a Turquoise Necklace from the American Southwest. The Turquoise in this Necklace set is beautiful with birds eye water web along with black webbing as well.

American Turquoise Bead Necklaces have been popular for hundreds of years and have been typically made by the Santo Domingo Indians from the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico. The Santo Domingo Indians are descendents of the Anasazi Indians of Mesa Verde who were also known for making Turquoise Beads early on. Durango Silver Company appreciates fine old Santo Domingo Turquoise Bead Necklaces and tries to always have some available. This Necklace above and to the left was made with American Turquoise but theTurquoise Beads were cut in China. The Chinese are well known for their fine quality bead cutting and their work should be appreciated. ThisAmerican Turquoise Bead Necklace was stung by Nattarika Hartman of Durango Silver Company.

Both the front and reverse side of this Necklace is a marvel for a Jewelry Connoisseur as sculptured Silver covets a fine quality Morenci Turquoise Gemstone that is backed with a Lapis Gemstone and a Sugilite Gemstone that is backed with a Mawsitsit Gemstone. Above and to the right is an antique American Indian Turquoise Necklace, Zuni Indian handmade in the USA! The Zuni Indian Jewelers are famous for their fine Needlepoint and Petti-point gemstone cutting and setting. This Petti-point Squash Blossom Necklace is a classic example of a Native American Turquoise Necklace made from 1920 - 1950. It is most likely they used Kingman Turquoise and hand cut each and every Turquoise Stone prior to making this piece. A great collectors item from the American Southwest!
